The Science of Medical Cannabis

Our patients tell us that it can be difficult to understand some of the technical information about medical cannabis. One of the biggest benefits of legalization is that more reliable testing and long-term scientific research can be conducted by unbiased organizations. Our medical practitioners keep us on our toes. They’re constantly researching the field for the most reliable articles and scientific studies. Here, you’ll find this information summarized in easy to read and relatable articles with legitimate sources. If it’s important to the practitioners, then it’s important to you. And vice versa.

Symptom Spotlights

We’ll pay special attention to specific illnesses and symptoms that can be aided by medicinal marijuana. You’ve probably heard about the therapeutic benefits to Glaucoma and PTSD sufferers but do you know about how it helps with arthritis and sleep disorders? We do and we’re learning more every day. We’ll show you specific cases of when and how medical cannabis can help you feel better and alleviate your pain. We’ll also invite some experts for “round tables” to discuss your most pressing questions and topics. We want to hear from you on this too – tell us what’s worked, what hasn’t, what’s surprising and any other bits you think could help this community. You’re at the leading edge of medical cannabis therapy and your insight is valuable!

Not all Cannabis is Created Equal

Do you ever wonder why Canada’s licensed producers grow various cannabis crops? We could answer this quickly by saying they grow strains that are in demand. But, that’s not always the case. Sometimes they research new hybrids or the benefits of differing THC CBD ratios. We want to know which cannabis strains are best for your needs. In this blog, you’ll get updates on the latest findings and interviews with our preferred LP’s.

Just the Facts – Medical Marijuana

Sometimes we’re amazed by the research that’s being conducted in the medical cannabis field. There’s been some heavy bias in past studies, but we’re finally seeing some certifiable outcomes. Since we work in the industry and we hear a lot of information we think you might be interested in some of the more amazing things we find.

For example:

  • Medical Cannabis purchases are a tax deduction in Canada.
  • The medicinal compounds in marijuana do NOT affect your brain stem. Opioids do.
  • Not all marijuana gets you “high”.
  • You should never be asked to pay for medical consultation or a prescription for marijuana.
  • Your medical profile, like all Healthcare in Canada, is private. INCLUDING medical marijuana therapy.

Culture & Environment

Do you know what your rights are as a medical cannabis patient? We do and we want to make sure you do too. Do you still experience stigma and judgement from people when they find out about your marijuana use? You shouldn’t. We’ll give you information that’s undeniable and supports your choices. As Canadians, we enjoy a very tolerant climate around the subject of marijuana but there is still a lot of misinformation out there that’s clouded some people’s views. This community is here to support you and get you what you need to break down some of the myths.

We hope you join us here for all the announcements, spotlights and interviews that we have planned. We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback. Remember that this is a community forum and while we will explore some controversial topics from time to time, negative or abusive comments will be deleted. If you have a question or concern that is time sensitive, you can contact us immediately by emailing us at [email protected] or you can book a consultation with our medical practitioner for health related concerns. If you are experiencing a health condition that has become urgent please go to your nearest emergency medical service provider.
